The website runs on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestraße 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. When you visit it, your browser technically transmits data (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser type). This data is processed only to operate the site securely and is deleted after 7 days at the latest. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. A data processing agreement with Hetzner is in place.

4. Buying the e-book

When you buy, you are redirected to the payment provider Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland). Stripe processes your payment data, email address and, where applicable, billing address to handle the payment and prevent fraud. Data may be transferred to Stripe, Inc. in the USA; Stripe is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Details: stripe.com/privacy.

From Stripe I receive your email address, the amount and the payment status. I store this together with a download key, the time of your consent to the immediate download and the number of downloads, in order to deliver the e-book and send you the download link by email. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract). Order data is kept for up to 10 years because of commercial and tax retention obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR, § 147 AO, § 257 HGB).

If you use the withdrawal function, I process your name, email address and details to handle the withdrawal and confirm receipt (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR).

5. Registering Amazon editions

If you register a book bought on Amazon, I store your email address, the edition, a download key and the number of downloads in order to provide the e-book files and updates (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). To prevent misuse, your IP address is stored for one hour with each attempt (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can request deletion at any time by email.

6. Links to Amazon

The paperback links lead to Amazon. Data is transmitted to Amazon only when you click such a link; Amazon’s privacy policy then applies.
